GUIDE BOOK
The conditions for access to the ESRF synchrotron radiation source are regulated by the ESRF Statutes and are the same for all members of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, including all members of the National Consortium. Detailed conditions are specified in the “Procedure for the allocation of beam time on ESRF beamlines for non-proprietary research (Annex 1).” In particular:
- Scientists from Poland may submit experimental designs individually or in collaboration with scientists from other countries,
- Measurement time will be allocated by the ESRF Chief Executive Officer based on the scientific merit of the project, as assessed by the Review Committee. Projects will be evaluated by a Review Committee composed of selected scientists, who prepare reviews for the ESRF Directorate,
- Scientific projects that allocate measurement time will receive technical and other necessary assistance, as is provided to projects by other ESRF Associate Members,
- Users from Poland will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation expenses during the experiment in Grenoble, in accordance with the rules applicable at the ESRF.
Polish scientists, like all ESRF members, can submit experiment proposals twice a year: by March 1 and September 10. Details can be found at: http://www.esrf.eu/UsersAndScience/UserGuide/ .
